Kajsa Balto featuring Bodø domkor

Kajsa Balto er født og oppvokst i Oslo, men har gjennom sine besteforeldre i Karasjok og sitt samiske opphav, fått nær kjennskap til den samiske og læstadianske salmetradisjonen. Røttene kommer tydelig frem i hennes tre album, hvorav den siste fra 2021 Sámi Juovllat inneholder flere salmer, som har fått ny drakt, i tillegg til den gamle. Kajsa Balto er en mye brukt artist, og har gjort flere større prosjekter, blant annet med KORK (kringkastingsorkesteret) og Arktisk filharmoni.  

Til Bodø tar hun med seg Jakop Janssønn og Ragnhild Tronsmo Haugland, og sammen med Bodø domkor skal de skape et nytt salmeunivers. Konserten finner sted under Samisk språkuke.

Kajsa Balto featuring Bodø Cathedral Choir 

Kajsa Balto was born and raised in Oslo, but has through her grandparents in Karasjok and her Sami origin, gained close knowledge of the Sami and Laestadian hymn tradition. Her roots are evident in her three albums, the last of which is 2021's Sámi Juovllat contains several hymns, which have been restyled, in addition to the old one. Kajsa Balto is a well-known artist, with several major projects to her name, including with KORK (the Norwegian Radio Orchestra) and the Arctic Philharmonic.  
She brings Jakop Janssønn and Ragnhild Tronsmo Haugland to Bodø, and together with Bodø Cathedral Choir they will create a new ‘universe’ of hymnody. The concert will take place during the Sami language week.
